Shipping Policy
How food travels from our chefs' kitchens to your table. Last updated 2026.
1. Where we deliver
UpChef delivers within selected neighbourhoods around each home chef's kitchen. Availability is shown by pincode, and we expand to new areas as more verified chefs join the community.
2. Preparation and dispatch
Every dish is cooked after your order is confirmed, so preparation time varies by recipe. Slow-cooked and heirloom dishes may need several hours or advance notice; the expected time is shown before you confirm.
3. Delivery timings
Standard deliveries are made during meal windows in the morning, afternoon and evening. Scheduled orders are dispatched to arrive within your chosen slot, subject to traffic and weather.
4. Packaging
Food is packed in tamper-evident, food-grade and insulated containers so it reaches you fresh and at the right temperature. We use recyclable materials wherever a safe alternative exists.
5. Delivery charges
Delivery charges depend on distance from the chef's kitchen and are shown clearly before checkout. There are no hidden fees added after an order is placed.
6. Delays
Home cooking and real roads can be unpredictable. If your order is running late, we will notify you with a revised time. For significant delays caused by us, we will make it right with a refund or replacement.
7. Failed deliveries
If nobody is available at the delivery address or the address is unreachable, our partner will attempt to contact you at the mobile number provided. Perishable food that cannot be delivered after a reasonable wait cannot be re-dispatched.
